Working at the high end of residential real estate, S.R. likes to keep up her appearance with top, eye-catching fashions. But she felt that she was a little lacking in the buttocks and often complained about having a flat behind that just did not fill out a pair of designer jeans.

"Our family has never been what you might call blessed in the backside," says the 43-year-old S.R. "But what woman does not want to have a shapely derriere?"

Four years ago, S.R. had seen Shahriar Mabourakh, M.D., a board certified Stockton, California, plastic surgeon for breast augmentation. She also had him perform a tummy tuck 12 years ago, and she has scheduled eyelid rejuvenation for the near future. As you might guess, she is very happy with the doctor’s work.

Buttock Augmentation

“To perform a Brazilian buttocks augmentation procedure, the surgeon extracts fat by liposuction where the patient can spare some.”

After seeing some TV programs about a procedure known as the Brazilian buttock lift — in which patients’ buttocks were augmented with their own donated fat — S.R. again made an appointment with Dr. Mabourakh.

"At first, he only recommended that I read up on the Brazilian butt augmentation procedure to make sure it was really what I wanted and that we would talk more about it later," S.R. says.

She quickly found and read enough information to know the procedure was for her. So she went back to Dr. Mabourakh and asked to go ahead.

Fat Transfer to the Buttocks

To perform a Brazilian buttocks augmentation procedure, the surgeon extracts fat by liposuction where the patient can spare some. Then, pure fat cells are carefully separated from blood, medications, tissue, and other things that liposuction pulls from the body. The surgeon then painstakingly places drops of fat cells throughout the layers of the patient’s derriere where the fat establishes itself, grows, and adds shape, curve, and volume to the patient’s rear.

"Dr. Mabourakh took donor fat from my waist, hips and back and later made injections in the buttocks to build up the peaks," S.R. says. "Afterwards, I had only a bruise or two. Recovery was not bad at all, although I had to sleep on my stomach or my side."

Butt Implant

S.R. says she did not want buttock implants because she did not want to have incisions made on both cheeks of her buttocks, necessary for inserting the implants.

"That just looked to too painful to me," she says.

Payback started soon after S.R. went back to work. Co-workers and others asked if she had been on vacation, was trying a new diet, or working out at the gym.

"I didn’t reveal the details about my procedure; I just replied, yes, I had been working out," she says. "A girl’s got to have some secrets."

“Co-workers and others asked if she had been on vacation, was trying a new diet, or working out at the gym. ”

And she heard other compliments about how nice she looked in her upscale outfits, which now fit more smoothly in the back and more snugly in the waist.

Because she looked a little more feminine after healing, S.R. was encouraged to keep up the look. So she joined a local gym where she works out religiously three times weekly, lifting light weights and spending time on a station bicycle and a treadmill, burning any excess calories she may have consumed.

Speaking of calories, get this: "I also changed my diet by eating less of what I normally eat while entirely cutting out the sweets and sodas I used to consume," S.R. says. "I never needed a reason to go clothes shopping before but I am two sizes smaller now so I did buy new clothes that fit much better."

And the jeans?

"Now, my jeans look great! Especially in the seat!"
